Does the nri taxation policy require nris to pay tax on remittances to India?

there was talk of levying a service tax on remittances to india but Central government has clarified that this will not be applied and so there is no tax on NRI remittances as of today

NRIs only pay tax on income received in india, there is no taxation in India on income that they receive abroad and then remit to india

No there is no need to pay taxes on remittances as you have already paid taxes while earning it
